1. What is UkraineBorder.com?

UkraineBorder.com is an information resource and insurance sales platform for foreigners travelling to Ukraine. We publish free guides on entry rules, customs, safety, and documents (sections Border crossings, Customs, Safety) and offer insurance with war-risk coverage via a Ukrainian-licensed partner. The site runs in 10 languages (uk, en, es, de, fr, ar, ja, pl, hu, cs). Details — About UkraineBorder.com.

2. Who runs the site?

The site is operated by LLC «WELCOME TO UKRAINE» (USREOU 44559356) — a Ukrainian legal entity registered in Kyiv (Ushinsky str. 40/302). The same entity is also an authorized insurance agent of Euroins UA per the National Bank of Ukraine register (kis.bank.gov.ua/search-fu). This means the informational content and the commercial offer belong to one legal person — no separate agent agreement is needed. Details — About UkraineBorder.com.

3. How do you make money?

We receive a commission on insurance policy sales through our partner PJSC «IC EUROINS UKRAINE». The commission size is a typical market rate for insurance agents in Ukraine (15-25% of the premium, depending on volume and product mix). We have no other affiliate relationships — no Amazon/Booking/Airbnb affiliate links, no sponsored reviews, no paid brand integrations, no display advertising. Informational content is entirely free. Details — Affiliate disclosure.

4. Which insurance company underwrites the policies?

The underwriter is PJSC «IC EUROINS UKRAINE» (USREOU 22158507), a Ukrainian-licensed insurer regulated by the National Bank of Ukraine (license class 18 — general insurance, travel and accident). The parent group is Eurohold Bulgaria AD (EU-listed on Sofia and Warsaw stock exchanges, ISIN BG1100074058, regulated under Solvency II). The product is the «Brave» program with optional war-risk coverage. Payments are processed by WayForPay (NBU-licensed, 3D Secure 2.0, PCI DSS Level 1). Details — Insurance partner.

5. What does the war-risk coverage include?

The «Brave» policy with the activated war-risk option (event 4.1.1 in the GTCP) covers injuries from military actions on Ukrainian territory, excluding 4 categories: (1) combat zones per state authority acts; (2) temporarily occupied territories; (3) 50-km buffer around both categories; (4) areas with a special permit regime. Exclusion is not whole oblasts: Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa are fully covered; Kharkiv is mostly covered (city centre); Zaporizhzhia is mostly excluded due to the buffer. Source — §8 Acceptance англ. Brave (approved by PJSC management board resolution 18.06.2024 № 3). Details — Insurance partner §3.

6. How often do you update content, and is it AI-generated?

We update content on 4 triggers: regulatory (new Cabinet/NBU act — within 7 days of effective date), user (editor@ report — within 5 business days), internal fact-check (90/180/365-day cycle by aging category), event (new sanctions, new border crossing — out-of-cycle). Content is AI-assisted (Claude by Anthropic for first drafts and translations) with a mandatory human editorial gate before publication — documented per EU AI Act Article 50 transparency. Factual edits never use AI alone — a human reads the original regulatory act. Details — Revision policy.

7. Is my personal data safe with you?

The data controller is LLC «WELCOME TO UKRAINE» (USREOU 44559356); GDPR contact: legal@ukraineborder.com. As an EU resident, you have rights under GDPR Articles 13-22 (information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, objection to automated decisions). Card payment data is not stored on our servers — handled by WayForPay in tokenized format. If you believe your right has been violated — contact your national DPA (CNIL FR, AEPD ES, BfDI DE, UODO PL, NAIH HU, ÚOOÚ CZ, PPC JP, ICO UK, FTC US, etc.). Details — Contact.

8. Where can I file a complaint about the site or policy?

Internal channels: info@ukraineborder.com (general queries, 5 business days), editor@ukraineborder.com (factual errors, 5 days), legal@ukraineborder.com (legal matters, GDPR requests, 30 days). Policy complaints — directly to Euroins UA, escalation to the National Bank of Ukraine (mfu@bank.gov.ua + intermediaries register kis.bank.gov.ua/search-fu). Localised channels: your national insurance and consumer protection regulator (BaFin DE, ACPR FR, FCA UK, JFSA JP, SAMA Saudi, FRA Egypt, KNF PL, MNB HU, ČNB CZ, etc.). Full list — Contact §8.

9. Can I trust this site over other travel insurance sites?

Strong trust signals: (a) Ukrainian-licensed insurer partner who can cover risks on Ukrainian territory, while international insurers typically exclude Ukraine territorially; (b) EU-listed parent group (Solvency II compliance); (c) transparent disclosure of affiliate relationships and commission structure; (d) GDPR-grade data handling; (e) human editorial gate over AI-assisted content. We are not an objective product comparator — we work with one partner and openly declare it. If your risk profile doesn't fit our territorial scope formula — another insurer may be a better choice. Details — Affiliate disclosure.

10. How do I contact you?

Four separate channels: info@ukraineborder.com (general queries, 5 business days) · editor@ukraineborder.com (content corrections, factual errors, 5 days) · legal@ukraineborder.com (legal requests, GDPR, 30 days) · insurance queries — Euroins UA directly or NBU mfu@bank.gov.ua. Legal address — Ukraine, 03151, Kyiv, Ushinsky str., bldg. 40, office 302. Phone — +380 93 542 67 32. We do not accept payments by phone or email — all insurance payments only via WayForPay in the official quote flow. Details — Contact.

11. Are there hidden costs or fees?

Informational content is entirely free — no paywall, no paid PDF downloads, no premium subscriptions. The insurance policy has one price, calculated via the partner API (Euroins UA) based on user parameters (period, coverage, options). The price is not hardcoded on the site — every quote is live. It includes all fees, fiscalisation under Ukrainian tax law, and a receipt to your email immediately after payment. No cancellation fees hidden in fine print — cancellation terms are in the «Brave» GTCP. Details — Insurance partner §6.

12. Does the site work for citizens of countries other than Ukraine?

Yes — the site is aimed primarily at foreigners travelling to Ukraine. 10 languages cover EU (en, es, de, fr, pl, hu, cs), MENA (ar), East Asia (ja) and Ukraine (uk). The insurance product is issued under Ukrainian law and covers foreigners on Ukrainian territory. Not intended for: Ukrainian citizens travelling abroad (a different product); the policy is not «admitted insurance» in the US (for US residents — additional information in Insurance partner §8 about state insurance commissioners). Details — About UkraineBorder.com.

13. What languages are supported, and are the translations accurate?

10 languages: Ukrainian, English, Spanish, German, French, Arabic (RTL), Japanese, Polish, Hungarian, Czech. Translations are generated by AI (Claude) from an approved UK source and verified by a native-speaker editor before publication (especially terminology — legal and regulatory terms). If you notice a translation error — write to editor@ukraineborder.com with a link to the article; we'll fix it within 5 business days. Workflow details — Revision policy §AI.

14. Do you have official social media accounts?

No, at this moment we have no active official accounts on Facebook / X / Instagram / TikTok / LinkedIn. Any account named «UkraineBorder» on social media is not ours (fake or squatting). If we launch an official account in the future — we'll announce it on this page and in About UkraineBorder.com with full disclosure. We do not offer «expedited» insurance policies via WhatsApp / Telegram / private channels — any such channel claiming to be us is fraud; write to legal@ukraineborder.com.
